If you are acting as your own general contractor in the construction of your home, request several estimates from comparable companies for your foundation.
If you are working with a general contractor:
ü
Ask
about their selection of sub-contractors
ü
Ask about their subcontractors’ experience
ü
Remember that the contractor should be looking for a reasonable price for your foundation, but quality must not be compromised!

If there is a company you prefer to build your foundation, you have a right to request that company - remember that you are the customer and you have a right to ask questions!
VERY IMPORTANT: IF YOU HAVE YOUR HOUSE PLANS BUT HAVE NOT YET SELECTED A LOT, OR IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED A LOT, BUT HAVEN’T CHOSEN YOUR HOUSE STYLE OR PLAN, WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO VISIT YOUR POTENTIAL BUILDING SITES, TO HELP YOU ENSURE THAT YOU CHOOSE A LOT THAT IS COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR STYLE OF HOME.
Even if you have a special house in mind, but haven’t chosen a plan, and you also haven’t decided where to build or what type of lot on which to build, give us a call.
Simply put, some lots are better for certain houses than others. For example, if your lot is sloping, the easiest and most affordable home choice will be a split entry home, as it requires less back fill and excavation. Alternatively, if
you would like to build a two storey home, you may wish to select a more level lot with less sloping. These choices will directly affect the cost to excavate your land and prepare it for your foundation, and can save or cost you thousands of dollars.
When you contact us, have your details ready, so that we may prepare your estimate. It is always important that we have a copy of your house plan, so that we can see all the details necessary to provide you with a concise estimate within 24 hours.
In order to prepare your estimate, we require:
-
Preferred start date/date range
-
The Size of your Home
-
The Area of your Basement
- A Detailed Lot plan
Or if you prefer, you can request an estimate for your foundation online!
